The Casting and Authentication
Beginning in early 2012 a team of expert craftsman, artist and engineers worked diligently to cast the perfect bronze sculpture, true to Leonardo’s original wax sculpture. Finally the team succeeded in creating a perfect wax sculpture from the original mold, made of da Vinci’s wax horse, and using the “lost wax” process, cast the original Horse and Rider in bronze.
Dr. Carlo Pedretti, world renowned authority on the life and works of Leonardo da Vinci, inpsected the finished bronze and after carefully scrutinizing the detail of the sculpture and comparing it to the many photos taken of the original, proclaimed the bronze sculpture of da Vinci’s Horse and Rider to be “Perfect! Perfect! Perfect!”
